Finding the Birds | Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary

Have you ever thought "I have this fantastic idea for a session, all I need is the perfect location"? Well let me tell you, I have found it!
I spent an afternoon recently exploring (and scouting out) the boardwalks and upland trails of the Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary.

Only a short drive southwest of Edmonton by Devon Alberta, it is on Sanctuary Road (Range Rd 264).
It is co-maintained by the Clifford E. Lee Foundation and the Nature Conservancy of Canada and is also a Ducks Unlimited Canada reserve. Definitely worth a visit my friends!!

I have seen so many photographs on social media of the little birds eating right out of people’s hands… I thought since I was there, I could give that a shot (pun totally intended).

Sometimes the best-laid plans just don't work out! After a couple hours of hauling my tripod, camera, various lenses and shutter release around,
I decided that the birds were just too shy this day.

As a photographer, I recognize the need for flexibility in my work.
I'm excited to head back soon, we have a planned stylized bridal shoot there! Oh, and also to talk all the birds into my hands, of course.

Thanks for reading and see you soon!
